The museum proudly displays 300 years worth of artefacts and archival resources that speak loudly to the community’s diverse history. The facility also features ongoing programs, events, and exhibits year-round for museum-goers of all ages.

3. Get Erratic 

Known as the world’s largest glacial erratic (rocks that were carried by glaciers thousands of years ago), Big Rock is a 16,500-ton quartzite rock that rests just minutes from Okotoks. Covered in ancient indigenous pictographs, this world-famous rock formation is surrounded by legend and lore.

4. Be Dramatic 

The Rotary Performing Arts Centre hosts a wide variety of theatre, film, music, improv, and many more events throughout the year. Here, you can watch a cult-classic movie, laugh it up with a local comedian, take in a family-friendly play or even be part of the show yourself by getting involved in one of the theatre’s open events.

Offering over six acres of fun for all ages, Kayben Farms features u-pick fruits and veggies, a massive garden centre, a cafe, and the famous Sunshine Outdoor Adventure Park. Open May through October, the park includes animals, a four-lane slide, water pump duck races, a corn maze, a pedal kart track, and the popular ‘berry bounce’ trampoline.

6. Get Active 

In addition to a wide variety of parks, playgrounds, and green spaces, the Okotoks Recreation Centre is the perfect venue to get out and get active. With indoor pools, a fitness studio, skating and curling rinks, a youth centre, and a variety of programs and classes for all ages and skill levels, the Okotoks Recreation Centre offers engaging activities for every member of the family. 

7. Play a Round. Or Three.

Okotoks is home to three top-notch golf courses including Crystal RidgeD’Arcy Ranch and River’s Edge. The family-friendly Crystal Ridge offers nine holes providing various degrees of difficulty as well as a mini-golf course the kids are sure to enjoy. The pristine D’Arcy Ranch and River’s Edge courses each include 18 holes, a golf club and pro shop. 

8. Head Down to Old Towne 

Downtown Okotoks, also known as Old Towne, is ripe with things to eat, see, and do. Here, you’ll find a variety of independent boutique stores including gift shops, clothing and antique stores, arts and crafts supplies, and much more. You’ll also find several great restaurants, a deli, and a bakeshop along with several spa, beauty, and wellness services.
